The SPPA’s 5 Simple Tips for High Customer Retention

It’s mid-summer and all of us at SPPA hope that your season has been busy and successful. We wanted to share our TOP 5 TIPS on how to build long-lasting customer relations. As you know, this is the heartbeat of a pool business and truly all that matters. Without a strong relational foundation with your clients, the easier it is for them to bring their business somewhere else. Read below for 5 simple ways you can begin to strengthen your business TODAY!

It’s the little things that matter:
Get to know your customers. Things like learning & noting Birthdays are customer retention Gold! Show your appreciation for their business. Email them on their one year of being a customer of yours, thank them and offer them a special discounted service that month. 
Exceed Expectations:
Pay attention to detail. We spoke with a local Pool Pro that tries to schedule visits on customers trash day to take their cans to the curb. Make those small repairs free of charge. Go out of your way to please your customer. A job well done does not go unnoticed.
As a key to any good relationship, communication is an essential way to build customer relationships. Find out your customers needs, then show them that you have a solution to their problem. Make sure you and your staff return Calls, Emails and Text Messages promptly. This shows professionalism and urgency to the customers matter.
Market yourself & Be Social:
Engage with your customers and community on Social Media. Facebook and Instagram are great tools to implement on your daily route. Share your great work and engage in local forums or people in your area looking for a pool service. Politely ask your customers to leave a review on Yelp. This is a great way to gain new customers.  
Be consistent:
Consistently show up on time, be prompt and thorough on the job. Always say hello if your customers are home. Double check that the gate closes all the way, every time. Nothing is more effective than consistency when it comes to making your company, or your performance, stand out.
